At present day, it does look like environmental sustainability is all but a dream, but we never know. There are more people than ever before in this world, yet governments are still hoping more higher birth rates, at least that is sustainability in the case of population numbers for the next generation. People freely cut trees down in seconds which have been already existing for millions of years without a care, the excuse being development of houses, roads, cities etc. We are rapidly, selfishly depleting every resource there is out there, while further emitting endless carbon into the environment. Its like karma because while we hurt the earth, it causes a disruption in the environmental balance, which leads to us being hurt through floods, climate changes etc. Food is also a huge contributing factor, with higher demand for grains, greens and meats. Globalisation is good in its sense of engaging the world, but it leads to companies like KFC to disperse chains around the world. One KFC branch in one day would sell quite a whopping amount of chicken meat, its revolting to even count the actual number of branches worldwide. Where do they get that much chicken meat, when chicken is not only used for KFC? It is known that they treat the animals inhumanely and abusively, and actually inject them with substances that catalyse their growth, which hurts both natural processes and our health. Also, did you know that to obtain just one pound of beef requires the amount of water that can shower you for six months, which is insane. Also, the huge opposites of people who have way too much food to eat, and people who have to starve and suffer. I do hope that governments and individuals would show more concern and do their little parts to ensure environmental sustainability for the future generations to enjoy.
